On Saturday 24th June, from Lake Waldsee, Langen, Frankfurt, Germany passing 5 countries, Netherlands, Belgium, France to the United Kingdom, from the start in Frankfurt, 9am CET, Martyn Clarke, joined by friends & colleagues will attempt, Stage 1 of the Triathlon, a daunting 7000m (4.3miles) Open Water Swim, friends from across UK and Europe will meet, driven to help complete the most daunting European Triathlon ever attempted, for 4 major Motor Neurone Disease Charities, in just 7 days…

The attempt, inspired by Rob Burrow MBE & wider MND communities, covering 1200km+ (approx. 800 miles) of swim, bike and run, will push the team to the brink each day.

The Stages:

Stage 1

The Cycle leg opening stage, Stage 1 starts directly following the 7km Swim leg, Team GB Paralympian, Ian Marsden joining the team for the 193km ride north to the City of Bonn,

Stage 2

Stage 2 will start in Bonn, heading west to the Belgian city of Hasselt, through the Netherlands, finishing after 167km

Stage 3

Stage 3 takes the team west further, with a huge day of cycling across the most famous cycling country of all, Belgium, passing North of Brussels, Ghent, to the City of Brugge, a mammoth 215km

Stage 4

Stage 4 on the Bike takes the team a relatively short morning, dealing with the French coastal winds to Calais, as they jump quickly onto Eurotunnel, before the UK journey begins, heading north to Sevenoaks, Kent, via Ashford, Maidstone to Sevenoaks, crossing 3 countries over 196km

Stage 5

Stage 5 starts in Sevenoaks, heading past some major landmarks of the UK, The Oval Cricket Ground, Wembley Stadium, paying tribute to Rob Burrow MBE, heading north to Milton Keynes, Northampton, finally to Leicester Tigers Stadium, a brutal and the longest day of the attempt, an energy sapping 228km

Stage 6

Stage 6 and final stage of the bike leg, follows Kevin’s Extra Mile run route from Leicester Tigers to Leeds Rhinos, paying tribute to Kevin, who astonishingly ran the whole distance, raising millions for the community in 2021, Martyn was lucky enough to join Kevin for 10 of these run miles, this day will see the team cover 181km into Leeds

Stage 7

The final day, Stage 7, Friday 30th June will see the team depart very early for the most brutal day, an ultra-run, a double marathon, heading to Leigh Sports Village, joined by some special guests, The Team departs Leeds at 3am, passing Leeds United, Huddersfield Giants, across the moors to Saddleworth, Mossley, passing the Premier League Champions, Manchester City, Etihad Stadium, through central Manchester, into Salford before arriving at Leigh Leopards v Hull KR Super League Game that evening, a 92km run completing the longest ever attempted Triathlon for Motor Neurone.
